1. About Taap

What is Taap?

Taap is a platform that allows you to instantly share your social networks, music, payment platforms, contact information and any other app or URL link by simply tapping your phone with the other person’s.

The other person doesn’t need an app or Taap to receive your Taap’s information!

What do I need to use Taap?

Buy your Taap and create your profile in our free app!

It is necessary to purchase a Taap in order to share information with others.

What information can I share with Taap?

You can share anything you want! With Taap you can share any information that is saved in a weblink URL.

Does the person receiving the information need to have a Taap or app?

No! The other person does not need a Taap or app to receive your information. That’s the cool thing about Taap.

The only condition is that the phone of the person receiving the info needs to be in the list of compatible devices, see the list here.

If not, simply display the QR code of your Taap profile for the other person to scan with their device.

Can I use Taap with people I don't have added and just met?

Of course! That’s one of Taap’s advantages. Taap can be used by anyone to instantly share all their social profiles and any other information!

What phones does Taap work with?

With virtually all devices except iPhone 6 and earlier. See if your device supports Taap here.

Can I buy multiple custom Taaps?

Of course! You can order custom Taaps for you or your business. Send us an email to b2b@taap.co to place the order!

2. Recommendations for use

Where on my phone should I place my Taap?

For iPhone and most Android: Place the Taap at the bottom of the phone. If you put it on top, your phone will read your own Taap constantly!

For Samsung Galaxy and Samsung Galaxy Note: Place the Taap on top of your phone near the camera.

Do taap work under the phone case?

Yes! Taaps operate on 99.9% of all phone cases. The only exception is covers that have a layer of metal. If there is a metal layer between the device receiving the information and the Taap the information may not be shared successfully.

Do I have to place my Taap only on phones?

No! Taaps can be placed anywhere you want. The possibilities are endless!

Your Taap communicates autonomously with the phone that receives the information so it can be pasted into any type of material or surface whether it is a computer, a restaurant table, a brochure or any material.

I can't read my Taap from an iPhone device, what do I do?

1) Make sure your phone works with Taap: Check the list of compatible devices here.

2) For iPhone, make sure you scan the Taap with the  upper part behind your phone (next to the back camera).

3) Make sure that your device does not meet one of the following assumptions as a Taap cannot be read when one of these happens:

  • Your phone is in airplane mode
  • Your phone has the flashlight on
  • Your phone’s screen is off
  • Your phone has the camera open
I can't read my Taap from an Android device, what do I do?

1) Make sure your phone works with Taap: Check the list of compatible devices here.

2) Some Android phones have NFC disabled by default. Make sure you go to phone settings and activate your NFC reader. Make sure “NFC” is turned on!

3) For Android, make sure you scan the Taap with the center part behind your phone.

4) Make sure that your device does not meet one of the following assumptions as a Taap cannot be read when one of these happens:

  • Your phone is in airplane mode
  • Your phone has the flashlight on
  • Your phone’s screen is off
  • Your phone has the camera open
Is my Taap going to interfere with the charger?

No, Taaps do not interfere with the wireless charging of the phone.

3. About the software Taap uses

Why should I use software to use Taap?

Taap software allows you to add your profile information and be able to decide when you want it to be transferred and when not, it’s for your security!

Do I have to pay to download taap app?

No, the Taap app to be able to share your profile is totally free.

Does Taap share your contact details with third parties?

No! Taap is the only platform that does not share your profile contact information with third parties. The contact details are yours and the people you make Taap with … no one else!

Can I link multiple Taaps to a single account?

Yes, you can! With the Taap app, you can activate to track as many Taaps as you want with the same account.

How can I share specific links in my profile instead of my entire profile?

If you do not wish to share your entire profile, you can use our “Selected link” functionality to select one or more links you wish to send (e.g. Instagram, LinkedIn, Contact Card, Snapchat)

4. Purchases and shipments

Do you send Taaps all around the world?

Yes!

Do you provide tracking number for each order?

Once your Taap is on its way, you’ll receive an email or text message with a link to the tracking information. If you do not receive this email, please email us at pedidos@taap.co

How long will it take to receive my Taap?

Shipping time is 3-7 business days. All orders come with tracking number! Please contact us at pedidos@taap.co you have not received your tracking number.

What returns policy do you have?

You can check our shipping and return policies in the lower menu of our website.

5. Activate your Taap

Step 1. Create your profile in our free web app

Visit https://app.taap.co to access our web app, create your profile and log in (access without activating the private or incognito browsing mode)

Step 2. Scan your Taap with your phone and click on the pop-up notification to activate it
  • For iPhone XS and above users: Scan your Taap with the top back of the phone, close to where the camera is
  • For iPhone 7, 8 y X users: You will need to have iOS 14
    1. Open the iPhone widget and click on the NFC button (the one showed in the screenshot below)                       
    2. Scan your Taap with the top back of the phone, close to where the camera is
  • For Android users:
    1. Make sure the NFC connectivity is active. Some Androids have the NFC disabled in the connectivity settings!
    2. Scan your Taap with the top rear or center rear of the phone (varies by device)
Step 3. Check that your Taap has been paired correctly

Check that your Taap appears in the “My Taap tags” section of the app (see the attached photo)

Step 4. Add the Taap web app to your home screen :)
